Nancy Hammerstedt

1950 - 2016

Nancy Agnes Hammerstedt, passed away in Taber on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at the age of 65 years.

Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Royal Canadian Legion, 5205 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 between 2:00 P.M. and 5:00 P.M.

Nancy is survived by her beloved companion Richard Betts, son Eden (Kim) Hammerstedt and granddaughters Brooklyn and Josie Hammerstedt all of Taber. She is also survived by her parents Ole and Clara Hammerstedt of Lethbridge; siblings Ken (Judy) Hammerstedt of Lethbridge, Ron (Kim) Hammerstedt of Diamond City, Peggy (Kim) Cockerill of Lethbridge and Lori (Scott) Noble of Purple Springs as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Nancy was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on October 10, 1950, the eldest child of Ole and Clara Hammerstedt. Being a free spirit, she moved out of the house at an early age. She headed to the pacific coast with her boyfriend Denny Bohn, where they had their son Eden in Powell River, British Columbia. In 1983, she moved to Taber where she has resided until the time of her passing. Nancy made numerous longtime friends wherever she lived. She worked at the Royal Hotel for many years where everyone got to know her. Nancy was most proud of her son and granddaughters and bragged about them everywhere she went. She always had a quick wit and a sharp tongue. Nancy loved to laugh and spend time with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.
