BARB ERICKSON

She then attended the University of Alberta for one year studying physical training. This is where she joined the RCAF in November of 1957. She began her “boot camp” training near Montreal, starting early in January of 1958. This is where she met her future husband Larry Erickson, who was in his sixth year in the RCAF. They courted evenings and weekends for one month, then Larry was transferred to the RCAF base, Summerside, Prince Edward Island. They planned to marry, so through their Air Force Padres, Barb was able to get a release from the RCAF by February 28, 1958. She travelled down to Summerside and they were married on March 8, 1958 in the Air Force Protestant Chapel.  The rest is a very long interesting story. They have three children Debra born January 1960, Lloyd born April 1962 and Daryl born November 1977. As well they have six grand children and five great grandchildren. Barbara received Christ as her personal Savior in 1985, approximately two and a half years after her husband Larry. They both attended the Evangelical Free Church of Quesnel, British Columbia, Fort St. John, British Columbia, Picture Butte and most recently Taber, beginning in 2003.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Barb’s name may be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, Box 2211, Lethbridge, Alberta T1J 4K7 or to a charity of one’s personal choosing.

"Forever In Your Heart"

When you speak of Sharlene,
speak not with tears
For thoughts of her should not be sad.
Let memories of the times you shared, give you comfort
For her life was richer because of you
And though now she has had to part,
Though to part she did not choose;
She'll be with you along life's path,
Forever In Your Heart.
