Margaret Helen Golby, beloved wife of the late Kasmer Golby, passed away peacefully in Taber on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at the age of 85 years. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M. The Funeral Service will be held at the Bethel Evangelical Free Church, 504 - 3 Avenue, Vauxhall on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Ken Easterbrook officiating. Burial to follow at the Vauxhall Cemetery. Margaret will be sadly missed by her daughter Linda (Calvin) Biem of Vancouver; sons Alan (Rowan) of High River, Dean (Linda) of Vancouver and Brent (Muriel) of Vauxhall. She will also be missed by her nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sister Ruth Schimpf of Livelong, Saskatchewan; brother Bill (Olga) Hammond of Climax, Saskatchewan; sisters-in-law Muriel Hammond of Edmonton and Amy Hammond of Portage la Prairie, Manitoba as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Kasmer; parents Hiram and Margaret Hammond; sister Ethel Stickle; brothers Mel and Ed Hammond; brothers-in-law Victor Schimpf and Alfred Stickle. Margaret was born in Climax, Saskatchewan on February 7, 1926. She was raised on the family farm near Climax and after grade school, Margaret moved to Winnipeg to begin her training as a nurse. She then moved to Taber to complete her training, and that is where she met her husband. Margaret married Kasmer Golby in 1948 and farmed in the Vauxhall area for many years before moving into Vauxhall. After Kasmer’s passing Margaret moved into Taber. Wherever she was, she enjoyed gardening in every aspect and always had her yard full of flowers and trees. Margaret was an avid church supporter and a faithful member of the Evangelical Free Church. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Sybil Irene Goldthorpe (nee Winchester), beloved wife of the late Thomas Goldthorpe, passed away in Taber on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at the age of 96 years. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the church prior to the funeral service on Friday, November 4, 2011 between 1:00 P.M. and 1:40 P.M. Sybil is survived by her children Alan (Sydony) Goldthorpe of Taber and Beth Martens of Clive; son-in-law Leo Madsen of Cranbrook; daughters-in-law Rana Goldthorpe of Edmonton and Joyce Goldthorpe of Grand Forks, British Columbia; twenty nine grandchildren, sixty great grandchildren and thirty three great great grandchildren; sister Carol Korsa of Wabamun; brother Earl (Doreen) Winchester of Aetna as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas Goldthorpe; children Ruth Collier, Ruby Madsen, Glen Goldthorpe and David Goldthorpe; sons-in-law George Martens and Wells Collier; brother-in-law George Korsa; two brothers Dale Winchester and Ronald Winchester; two sisters Cleo Bain and Helen Winkler; sister-in-law Doris Winchester and two brothers-in-law Jim Bain and Bill Winkler. Sybil was born on December 26, 1914 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Charles and Gertrude (nee Kellogg) Winchester. She married Thomas Goldthorpe on January 23, 1935 and they settled in Taber. Sybil loved sewing and spent many hours doing this. She resided at the Clearview Lodge for a number of years before moving to the Extended Care and eventually Linden View where she resided until the time of her passing. Sietse Geertsma of Taber, passed away in Calgary on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at the age of 77 years. The Funeral Service will be held at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. with Hans Visser officiating. Sid will be remembered by his siblings Henny (Henry) Zanbergen, Ruth (Herman) Stolk, Trinkie (Hank) Vander Heidi, Homer (Teena) Geertsma, Jake (Wendy) Geertsma and Bert (Loretta) Geertsma; two sisters-in-law Catherine Geertsma, Susan Geertsma and numerous nieces and nephews all of Ontario. He was predeceased by his parents Andries and Wytske Geertsma, two brothers George Geertsma, Jack Geertsma and a sister Hendrikje Geertsma. Sid was born in Ureterp, Friesland, The Netherlands on January 15, 1934. At the age of eighteen, he immigrated to Canada where he worked for the PFRA in Vauxhall. Sid farmed for many years in Ontario, later moving back to Alberta to work for Sandy Hill Stock Farms before owning a contracting business in Taber. He worked hard all his life, enjoyed the outdoors and was generous in helping others with his time and talents.
John Paul Gregus, beloved husband of Irene Gregus, passed away in Taber on Friday, March 11, 2011 at the age of 81 years. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 5009 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. with Reverend Vincent TuanHa, Celebrant. A private family burial will follow at the Taber Memorial Garden. John is survived by his children John Jr. (Roxie) Gregus and their children Tiffaney, Shauna and Tosha; T.A. (Willie) Hannah and her daughter Jen (Clay) Angyal (their children Chase and Jayden); Robert (in spirit) & Tina Gregus and his children Chris (Annie Valgardson and their daughter Peytyn), Ashley (Shawn Hillier), Jordan and Kendon; Joey (Teresa) Gregus and their children Brandon and Krystal (Eric) Stolk (their children Tristan, Taylor and Lexi); Shelly (Dale in spirit) Sekura and their son Cody. He was predeceased by his wife Irene Gregus; parents Joseph & Mary Gregus; son Robert Lee Gregus; son-in-law Dale Sekura; brother Rudy Gregus; father and mother-in-law Mike & Annie Sowinski. John was born in Makov, Czechoslovakia January 18, 1930. At the age of five, he immigrated to Canada with his family. They arrived in Montreal by boat and travelled west to Taber where they settled and started working in the beet fields. After finishing grade eight, John spent several years farming with his dad. He married Irene Sevinski in Taber on February 20, 1950. They lived with his parents, Babi & Zedo for a short while before John built their first home. Eventually he decided that farming wasn’t for him and made a new start when his brother-in-law Peter Leskiw Sr. offered him a job with Lucerne in the early sixty’s. During these years, he enjoyed playing darts and especially loved to fish, spending many May long weekends with his sons and his brother Rudy and his boys on their fishing “derbys”. After many successful years as a field man, John retired in 1990. He loved carpentry and in addition to building their first home and spent countless hours renovating the other homes they lived in. He had a new found passion for cooking. John spent many afternoons walking through Confederation Park where he would spend time reading. He loved watching movies. He enjoyed visits with his family and friends and cherished the time spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. John will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him. Philip Quinton Glas of Vauxhall, beloved husband of the late Thelma Glas, passed away in Taber on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at the age of 88 years. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M. A private family burial service will be held at the Hays Cemetery prior to the funeral service on Thursday, December 23, 2010. The Funeral Service will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, 217 - 5 Street North, Vauxhall on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. with Pete Janzen officiating. Phil is survived by eight children - Donna (Adolf) Riemann of Coaldale, Lenora Yaroslawsky of Hays, Connie (Ron) Wangsness of Stoughton, Saskatchewan, Claire (Elmer Goller) Glas of Rolling Hills, Phyllis Hirney of Hays, Sharon (Gord) Hirney of Hays, Rod (Colleen) Glas of Vauxhall and Wanda (Dean Bishoff) Glas of Medicine Hat. He will be fondly remembered by his very special companion Bertha Geremia of Retlaw. He is also survived by twenty grandchildren and their spouses, thirty four great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Thelma Mae Glas, daughter Janette Ponting, his parents, eleven siblings, two infant grandsons and three sons-in-law. Phil was born to Martin & Eva Marie Glas on March 23, 1922 on the family farm at Vibank, Saskatchewan. At the age of nineteen, Phil was called to serve with the armed forces at Regina and was later transferred and stationed in Vancouver. He also served in the Aleutian Islands, Alaska as a gunner and army truck driver. While in Vancouver, Phil met Thelma Mae Dredge and they were married in the fall of 1944. In the summer of 1945, they moved to Masefield, Saskatchewan where he began farming on his dad’s farm. In 1952, they moved to Hays where they raised their nine children. Phil enjoyed playing many musical instruments and was an accomplished mechanic, carpenter, farmer and ball coach for the family team. He was a gentle soul with a big heart. Hendrik Rudolf Arnoldus Grol of Bow Island, beloved husband of the late Mieke Grol, passed away in Medicine Hat on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at the age of 86 years. Alice Josephine Grigor, beloved wife of Walter Grigor of Barnwell, passed away in Taber on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at the age of 86 years. Besides her loving husband Walter, Josephine is survived by her son Ryan (Kitty) Grigor of Calgary and his children Stacey Grigor and James (Kathy) Grigor (and their children Darren, Hunter & Amelia); her son Murray (Olga) Grigor of Coaldale and their children Taylor, Dreama & Sasha; her daughter Marline (Ken) Grayson of Coaldale and her children Jonas Scott and James (Sue) Scott (and their children Jandy, Brittany & Patricia). She is also survived by two sisters, Laura Stevens of High River and Vivian Thielman of Victoria; a brother Maurice (Frieda) Wendelboe of Lethbridge and by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Agnes (nee Anderson) & Hans Wendelboe; sister and brother-in-law Ruth & Dave Isaac; two brothers-in-law Elmer Stevens and Bill Thielman. Josephine was born in Barons on March 9, 1924. As a child she was affected by Polio which she struggled with her entire life. Between the ages of 11 and 19, she spent a great deal of time at the Children’s Hospital in Calgary. During this period, she underwent two spinal fusions all while completing her high school education. Josephine later attended normal school and spent some time teaching. Her condition eventually led to the end of her teaching career before working for Greyhound and Marshall Wells in Calgary. After moving to Lethbridge, Josephine worked in an office for a hardware company. During this time, she met Walter and they were married September 15, 1951. Josephine served as a teacher in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many other assignments. In 1984, she began water colour painting. She loved to paint and had some award winning paintings that she had shown in both Lethbridge and Edmonton. In 1990 Josephine wrote a family history book which she had printed. In spite of her medical condition, including two further surgeries which prevented her from having mobility in her spinal area, Josephine lived a full life. She will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Jayden Murray Gardner, beloved son of Murray and Angela Gardner, passed away in Taber on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at the age of 16 years. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the church prior to the funeral service on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 from 12:30 P.M. to 1:40 P.M. Besides his loving parents, Jayden is survived by his siblings Kaylee, Alyssa, Chelsea and Joshua; grandparents Glen & Lona Gardner and William & Violet Baugh as well as many cousins, aunts and uncles. Jayden was a proud member of the W.R. Myers Rebels Football team and will be sorely missed both on and off the field. Classmates and friends appreciated his kind, welcoming and gentle disposition. Jayden has gone to serve a greater mission for the Lord. He was a valiant, moral and tenderhearted boy. He loved his family and his happiest times were spent with them. We know that the Lord knows and understands all things and that each one of us is His child. That there is a plan, that our time here is for our learning and growth. We know that we will see Jayden again and that our family will be together forever. There are not enough words to express the gratitude our family feels for the love and prayers on our behalf. We have a wonderful family, our beautiful church family, loving friends and a community of thoughtful, caring people. We feel your love and prayers. We love you all.
Glenn Arthur Gilbertson, beloved husband of Jeanette Gilbertson of Lethbridge, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at the age of 85 years. The Funeral Service will be held at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Sandra Riddell officiating. Burial to follow at the Taber Memorial Garden. Besides his loving wife Jeanette, he is survived by Jeanette’s children Joyce Bennett and Gordon (Linda) Skoog of Vancouver and their families; sisters Winogene Luehr of Taber, Marlene McCartee of Taber, brother Brent (Margaret) Gilbertson of Calgary and their families. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Myrtle Wiens of Lethbridge and Zelma Gilbertson of Taber and their families; brother-in-law Alvin (Elaine) Peterson of Tompkins, Saskatchewan and their family. He was predeceased by his brother Dale, brothers-in-law Paul Luehr and Leo McCartee, three sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law on Jeanette’s side. Glenn was the second child born to Arthur and Esther Gilbertson. He was born in Taber on October 26, 1924. He received his elementary schooling in country schools namely Cromwell and Wadena and went on to finish high school in Taber. Glenn chose to stay and operate the family farm south of Taber until his retirement in 1990. After retirement he sold the farm and moved to Lethbridge where he met and married Jeanette Skoog. In his younger years he was actively involved in baseball and softball and he enjoyed the games very much. Later on in retirement he found bowling to be his passion along with Jeanette, being very enthusiastic abut the game. Glenn was bowling and finished the season in May of 2010, not knowing this would be his final season. He also loved pool at the Club House where he lived. His younger brother Brent recently travelled to Lethbridge from Calgary several times to keep in touch with Glenn. We will continue to love and cherish all the fine qualities of his life. “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass... It’s about learning to dance in the rain.” Irene Cecilia Gregus (nee Sevinski), loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away in Taber on Sunday, February 21, 2010 one day after celebrating her and John’s 6oth wedding anniversary, surrounded by the comfort of her family. Irene was born in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan on March 10, 1932. She lived in Maple Creek for five years before moving to Taber where her parents were told there was plenty of work in the beet fields to raise a family. Mom met her first and only love in 1948. They dated for two years before they married in 1950 at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in Taber. Our mom was a kind, gentle and nurturing soul. She loved being with her family, especially the little ones. She was a terrific homemaker and enjoyed baking, cooking and canning in the summer and fall so we could enjoy fresh fruit and vegetables in the winter. In her younger days she loved to draw, embroider, garden and play bingo. She was the peacekeeper in the family. She was our strength, she was the glue, we will miss her dearly. Irene was a long standing member of the St. Augustine’s C.W.L. as well as the Taber Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She may not have participated in the last few years, but she always paid her dues via Aunty Jean or Maria Oevering. She suffered with dementia and alzheimer’s for the last five years of her life and it eventually took a toll on her. She fought hard, but God has other plans for her, now free of pain and sorrow. Irene is survived by her husband John; children John Jr. (Roxie) Gregus and their children Tiffaney, Shauna and Tosha; T.A. On October 26, 2009, the Lord welcomed home his daughter Elizabeth in her 95th year. Elizabeth was born March 9, 1914 in Hague, Saskatchewan to Peter and Elizabeth Fehr and was blessed to have a second mother, Sarah Fehr. She was married March 11, 1934 to Peter Goerzen. They were blessed with thirteen children. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband Peter, daughter Sarah, son Rueben and daughter-in-law Jocelyn (John), brothers Peter Fehr, Isaac Fehr, William Fehr, David Fehr, Jacob Fehr, John Fehr, Herman Fehr and sisters Sarah Derksen, Mary Olfert and Helen Olfert as well as numerous brothers and sisters-in-law. Elizabeth is survived by eleven children, Dave (Mary) of Dawson Creek, British Columbia, Peter (Helen) of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Susan (Ernie) of Didsbury, Henry (Helen) of Laird, Saskatchewan, Willie (Barb) of Brooks, George(Shelley) of Abbotsford, British Columbia, Jake (Anne) of Calgary, Phillip (Anne) of Taber, Herman (Bernice) of Abbotsford, British Columbia, John (Charito) of Calgary, Elmer(Margaret)of Peace River and son-in-law Henry (Bea); sisters Tena Olfert, Anne Hiebert and brothers George Fehr, Corney Fehr and Ben Fehr. She was also blessed with thirty six grandchildren, sixty nine great grandchildren and fifteen great great grandchildren. After Peter passed away in 1984, Elizabeth moved to Coaldale and later to Taber. Over the course of that time she enjoyed travelling on senior tours, reading the Valley News and participating in senior events. She remained very active until her sudden illness. She had a strong faith in the Lord and her children were very dear to her. Anna Maria Grol (nee Heijne), beloved wife of Hendrik Grol of Bow Island, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2009 at the age of 79 years. Mieke is survived by her loving husband of 50 years Hendrik; her children Rieks, Gerard (Carolina), Henk (Hennie), Jan (Fenny) and Arnold (Tamara) and also by several grandchildren. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 1113-1st Street East, Bow Island, on Monday, June 15, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. with Reverend Keith Sorge Celebrant. William John Green passed away peacefully in Taber on Sunday, June 7, 2009 at the age of 74 years. Bill was born November 18, 1934 in Calgary. He worked hard all his life and eventually lived his dream of ranching at Beaverlodge. After retiring from Alberta Agriculture in Vauxhall in 1990, Bill had planned to spend the remainder of his years at Beaverlodge but in 2004 decided to move to Taber to be closer to his family. He often said he had lived a good life and forty five years of sobriety helped to achieve the love, gratitude and serenity he showed everyday. Peter Giesbrecht of Rolling Hills, born February 2, 1994 in St. Thomas, Ontario, passed away in a canoeing accident on Lake Newell on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at the age of 15 years. Robert Lee Paul Gregus was called home to his Father in heaven on Thursday, September 4, 2008 at the age of 47 years. Robert was born on May 10, 1961, the third child of John and Irene Gregus. He was raised and educated in Taber, graduating from St. Mary’s High School. He married Tina Martin on November 22, 2003. Robert was never at a loss for words and had the biggest heart around. To find out anything that was going on in town you just needed to call Robert. Jellybelly, affectionately nicknamed by his friends, loved family gatherings, cooking, fishing and was a proud Montreal Canadians and Dallas Cowboys fan as well as an avid Edmonton Eskimos fan. In his younger years he played Lacross and hockey and later coached hockey and softball. Robert was active in his church and held many callings. His favorite food was Kentucky Fried Chicken and of course Taber corn. Brenda Lee Gould, beloved wife of Dwaine Gould of Taber, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2008 at the age of 48 years. Brenda was born at Taber, Alberta on September 11, 1959 to parents Harold and Patricia Ayers. At the time of her passing, Brenda was residing in Taber. Jack Goruk, beloved husband of Frances Goruk, passed away in Taber on Sunday, December 30, 2007 at the age of 82 years. Besides his loving wife Frances, he is survived by his children Elaine (Gary) Ash of Edmonton and their children Greg (Joan), James and Heather (Doug); Karen Taillefer (Ron) of Coaldale; Bill (Linda) Goruk of Lethbridge and their children Chris and Gina; Doug (Nevis) Goruk of Lethbridge and their children Robert, Kevin (Tiffany) and Steven; Neil (Della) Goruk of Taber and their son Jason (Jodi); Denise (Ian) Cole of Taber and their children Kelly and Kevin; three great grandchildren Zachary, Jordan and Kash Goruk; sister Mary Baroldi of Taber and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Nick and Helen Goruk; son-in-law Omer Taillefer; brothers John Goruk and Nick Goruk; brother-in-law Roy Baroldi; sister-in-law Lillian Goruk. Jack was born January 17, 1925 in Taber to Nick and Helen Goruk. After receiving his schooling in Taber, Jack served with the 49th Battalion, Royal Edmonton Regiment. He went to Europe and was wounded in Italy before returning home. He met and courted a young lady named Frances Denis. They married August 6, 1947. Jack worked at Empress Foods (Lucerne Foods) for thirty five years before retiring in 1986 for health reasons. He loved his work and was honoured at retirement as the Corn King. Jack was an avid fisherman, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and loved to coffee with the boys. Violet Ivy Gow, beloved wife of the late Frank Gow, of Taber (formerly of Vauxhall), passed away at the Taber Continuing Care on Friday, November 30, 2007 at the age of 85 years. Left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Everett Gow of Brighton, Ontario, John (Diane) Gow of Whitehorse, Floyd (Elsie) Gow of Bowden, Phil Gow of Innisfail, Robert (Maureen) Gow of Coaldale, Marylou (Harold) Donaldson of Pincher Creek, Paul (Shirley) Gow of Vauxhall, Dixie Jensen of Taber, Cheryl (Randy) Waddle of Vauxhall and Tim (Joyce) Gow of Vauxhall; twenty-five grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Eva Wallis of Surrey, British Columbia and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband Frank in 1986; sons Kenneth and Elon in 1948; four grandchildren; six brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law. Violet was born February 15, 1922 in Wolsely, Saskatchewan. In 1928 she and her family moved to Grantham where she attended the Southside School and in 1938 the Vauxhall School. Violet and Frank were married November 23, 1938 in Medicine Hat. In 1943, they purchased a farm two miles north of Vauxhall. “Bye for Now” Harold Gilbertson of Taber, beloved husband of the late Irene Gilbertson, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at the age of 82 years. His memory lives on through his children Craig (Vera) Gilbertson of Calgary, Laurie (Frank) Megyes of Taber, Guy Gilbertson of Taber and Darby Gilbertson of Taber; grandchildren Krislin (Dwight) Meier, Kevin, Brian, Vanessa and James; great grandchildren Edan and Logan. Harold is also survived by his sisters Marion (Glenn) King of Calgary, Jean (Jerry) Nuttall of Idaho and Nora Hadley of Edmonton. Besides his wife Irene, he was predeceased by his son Mark. Harold was born and raised on the family farm south of Taber where he lived up until the last four years of his life. In his early years, he attended the Wadena Country School. In 1949 he married Irene Daigle. Together they raised their family and shared forty-seven years of marriage. He was a farmer long past his retirement, keeping everyone up to date on the weather and crop conditions. Harold enjoyed long drives in the country with his family and loved to socialize, keeping a well-worn notebook of names in his pocket once his memory started to fail. Harold will be remembered for his gentle, humble and caring nature. He was unfailingly polite and grateful for each small kindness shown to him. Clarence Gow of Vauxhall, passed away in Taber on Friday, June 8, 2007 at the age of 88 years. Clarence is survived by his sister Eva Wallace of Surrey, British Columbia, sister-in-law Violet Gow of Taber and by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents John and Mary Gow; brothers Cecil, Gordon, Frank and Harold; sister Pearl Penna; step-brother Loftus Roach; brothers-in-law Tom Penna and Bob Wallace and sister-in-law Sadie Roach. Clarence was born on August 18, 1918 at Hazenmore, Saskatchewan. Clarence resided at Retlaw and Grantham where he spent time farming. Clarence spent a few years cooking for work crews including a year for a gravel crusher crew at the Frank Slide in the Crowsnest Pass. Eventually, Clarence came to Vauxhall and worked for the PFRA irrigating pastures and later working as a farm hand until his retirement. Viola Edna Elsa Graham, beloved wife of Frank Graham of Taber, passed away peacefully with family by her side, at the Taber Extended Care, on Friday, May 25, 2007 at the age of 68 years. Viola was born September 21, 1938 on the family farm nine miles outside Windthorst, Saskatchewan, fourth born child of Fred and Edna Pusch. On June 21, 1958 she married Frank Graham. Together they spent the first twenty years of their marriage in Oxbow, Saskatchewan raising their six children, Valorie (Donovon), Ross (Michelle), Dale (Ging), Thurzamae (Al), Melinda (Todd), and Rodger (Barb). In 1978 they moved to Taber where she made many loving friends and captured the hearts of all. She will be remembered for her work at the Clearview Lodge, her passion of power lifting, her homemade buns, riding her bike, walking many miles and visiting wherever she went. She was a dedicated member of the Peace Lutheran Church and with her strong faith she made it through a recurring cancer. Her true love in life was spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents Fred and Edna Pusch and is survived by her siblings Merle (Russell), Vern (Jackie), Gladys (Ed), Doreen (Louie), and Moreen (Frank). She will be sadly missed and always remembered by family, friends and her eighteen grandchildren Matthew (Jenn), Devon (Jena), Jackie, Gavin, Thea, Christopher, Carl, Cortney, Joshua, Tori, Cali, Elisha (Jared), Reagan, Sydni, Cherish, Logan, Dylan and Karlee. Marie Margaret Gertzen (nee Pakarno), beloved wife of Arnold Gertzen, passed away peacefully at the family farm near Vauxhall on Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at the age of 65 years. She was loved and will be greatly missed by Arnold, her husband of forty-seven years. She is survived by her children Kevin (Cindy), Keith, Kurt (Amanda) and by two grandsons, Rylan and Braden all of Vauxhall. She is also survived by her brothers Gil (Marlene) Pakarno and Otto (Lillian) Pakarno; sister Linda McAughey; sister-in-law Isabel Pakarno; brothers-in-law Dan Jones and Richard Gertzen as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
