Lela will always be loved and treasured by her children Diane (Garfield) Bland of Lethbridge, Jean (Blair) Williams of Alexandria, Ontario, Susan (John) Sanders of Lethbridge, John (Connie) Jensen of Kemptville, Ontario and Keith Jensen of Taber; her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren Kevin (Lorie) Bland and their children Mackae, Brittanie, Cayley and Emily; Alyson (Alan) Scoville and their children Crystal (Tom) Quinton (their children Tyson and Braiden), Tiffanie, Chelsie, Brandon (his daughter Audrina) and Taylor; Chris and Amanda Bland; Michelle (Rick) Anderson and their children Jaimie, Erin and Tyler; Carma (Jim) Stephenson and their children Jesse and Lauren; Matthew (Alyson) Williams and their children Analeina and Cohen; Ben (Aiden) Williams and Cole Williams; Tomi Jo “TJ” Charlton and his children Talen and Shayden; Craig Charlton and his children Abby and Alexia; Brett Jensen; Russell (Sun Ja) Jensen and their son Jaden; Kylee (Ben) Sauve and Lorah Jensen. She will also be missed by two special adopted families who called her “Grandma”, Line Gagne and her children Natasha, Chantelle, Sidney Rae and Zachary; Robina Morrisette and her daughter Stephanie Monsson. Lela is also survived by her sister-in-law Nina (Warren) Russell and their children Gayle, Bill, Jayne and David; by the children of her late brother Demar (Connie) Russell, Sandra and Randy; children of Sylvan (Annie) Jensen, Connie, Patti and Richard.
She was predeceased by her husband Golden; parents William “Bill” and Harriet “Hattie” (nee Collett) Russell; siblings William “Billy”, Demar, Warren and Nora; sisters-in-law Connie Russell and Lucille Dodson; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Sylvan and Annie Jensen and their children Gary, Sylvia and Jerome; nephew Charlie Russell; grandchildren Cameron and Karin Bland.
Lela was born in Taber and raised on the family farm at Fincastle. She attended Reliance School which was just across the road from their farm home and completed grade nine. Lela talked very fondly of her school days as well as the social activities they attended at school. When she and Golden were married they made their home on their farmstead situated between their parents, where they lived contentedly until selling the farm and moving into Taber in 1973. Lela enjoyed living in town more than she did farm life. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and did many years of service in the primary and as a visiting teacher. Lela was known by all for her compassion and love as she cared for many family and extended family members during times of illness and bereavement. Her life on this earth was a life of service to others. She worked with “Meals on Wheels” for ten years and made many friends doing this service, as she would not only deliver the meals but would spend time with each of these lonely people each day. She loved her extended family dearly and was often on the phone talking to a cousin, niece or nephew as well as her children and grandchildren. She will be missed by her family and many friends. Lela was proud of her Irish heritage and always had this Irish Blessing visible in her home (it also says a lot about the kind of person she was).
May the road rise up to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
And the rains fall soft upon your fields
And, until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Jensen, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2006 at the
age of 72 years.
Dwin was born
August 7, 1932 in Barnwell, a son to Einar & Sarah
Lenore Jensen. He was raised near Barnwell and received
his schooling in Barnwell and Taber. A cowboy at heart,
he spent many years in both the Chinook Rodeo and Pro

They were married on January 22, 1977, and settled in
the purple Springs area, farming, raising cattle and
sheep. Dwin loved children (and had a nickname for all
of them!). His proudest moment was when he became a
parent himself. He and Kate raised their three
children, Quinton, Katie and Einar on their farm south
of Purple Springs. He was a familiar sight at all the
4-H events, basketball games, football games and
wrestling matches that his children took part in. Dwin
also enjoyed a great game of cards and spent many
mornings dropping in to the Purple Springs store to
visit with the neighbours.

Latter-day Saints and was very proud of the fact that
they were sealed as a family on April 6, 2001. He was
in the High Council and a High Priest Leader.
