1946 - 2017
Kathleen Claire Andrus, beloved wife of Glenn Andrus, passed away in Taber surrounded by her family on Monday, May 29, 2017 at the age of 70 years.
Relatives and friends were invited to Prayers at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 7:00 P.M.
The Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, 5009 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 11:30 A.M. Burial followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.
Kathy is survived by her husband of fifty years Glenn; her six children Len (Tara) Andrus of Salmon Arm, British Columbia and their children Randi and Shayna; Patrick Andrus of Taber and his children James (Kassandra), Natasha, Marcus and Brett; Lindy (Dan) Arnold of Taber and their children Blake (Kennedy), Tanner, Ashlynn and Amy; Judi (Don) Grant of Medicine Hat and their children Sydney, Blair and Scott; Tim (Dallas) Andrus of Medicine Hat and their daughter Madison; Donelle (Duane) Halma of Pouce Coupe, British Columbia and their children Sage, Brooke and Liam, two great grandchildren Lakai, Octavia and one to arrive in October. She is also survived by her siblings Terry MacDonald, Maureen (Elmer) Lohmann, Mike (Yvette) Whalen and Pat (Maxine) Whalen; brother-in-law Barry (Evelyn) McIntyre; in-laws Clifford (Rita) Andrus, Evelynn Noer, Ruth (Hank) Domelewski, Kathleen Williamson, Les (Betty) Andrus, Hazel Langkopf, Harold Andrus and Dorothy Andrus as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Leo and Helen Whalen, sister Carol McIntyre and brother Tom Whalen.
Kathy was born in Taber on August 20, 1946 to Leo and Helen Whalen. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, who was loved by all. Her favorite thing was to be immersed in laughter and joy, which is what everyone felt when they were in her presence. Kathy and Glenn came from large families and hosted many family events, these were some of their happiest times. Kathleen was a devout follower of the Catholic Church, her love for the church was everlasting. She will be lovingly remembered and forever in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes in Kathy’s name may be made directly to a charity of one’s choice.
