FRANK RABUSIC

1922 - 2007

Frank Rabusic, beloved husband of Norma, passed away in Taber on Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at the age of 84 years.
Besides his loving wife Norma, he is survived by his sons Jim (Brenda) and their children Chris (Jamie), Ken, Brad (Ren) and Lindsay (Rob) all of Taber; Rod (Debbie) of Taber; Frank Jr. (Belinda) of Racine, Wisconsin, Richard (Traci) of Topeka, Kansas and by his daughter Maryann (Ted) Wiedener of Calgary and their children Kim & Miranda. He is the proud great grandpa to two boys, Evan & Parker and is also survived by his sister Marie Rabusic of Lethbridge.
He was predeceased by his parents Frank & Helen Rabusic.
Frank was born in Kostice, Czechoslovakia on September 14, 1922. The Rabusic family immigrated to Canada in 1929 settling in the Raymond area. He received his schooling in Raymond and Welling. When war began, Frank took a job with Boeing Aircraft in Vancouver. He joined the Airforce in 1943 and was stationed in various parts of Canada. He received an honorable discharge in 1945 with a rank of pilot officer. He enrolled at the University of Alberta and graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering. For a time he worked as a chemist for the Canadian Sugar Factory, but left that position to pursue his love of farming, ranching and cattle feeding. On November 12, 1952 he married Norma Jennings. They resided in Welling until 1957 when they purchased their Taber farm. For ten years Frank operated a farm machinery and fuel business in Taber, the first business located on Highway 36. He was a community minded person. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus, served as director on the Sugar Beet Central Board, director of Southern Alberta Co-op, chairman of the Taber Police Commission and as a councilor for the Town of Taber. Frank was well respected for his public speaking ability. He enjoyed traveling, one of his memorable trips was to his homeland in 1974. He enjoyed reading, music, dancing and cattle auction sales and the socializing that went along with it. Frank was an ambitious man and leaves a legacy of hard work, love and dedication to his wife and family.
Relatives and friends are invited for Prayers at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, May 3, 2007 at 7:00 P.M.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 5009 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, May 4, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. with Reverend Mariusz Sztuk SDS Celebrant.  A private family burial will follow at the Taber Memorial Garden.
