RIA ZEINSTRA

1948 - 2006

Ria Zeinstra, beloved wife of Jerry Zeinstra of Taber, passed away, after a courageous battle with cancer, at the Taber Hospital on Sunday, January 8, 2006 at the age of 57 years.
Ria was born on November 25, 1948 in The Netherlands. She married Jerry Zeinstra on August 27, 1971. Ria quietly, actively, and independently was always a huge support to Jerry in his farming and had a huge influence in her children's lives. She loved her children more than anything and was always there for them. She loved planning family trips and then making trips to Calgary to visit her daughters. Through Ria's passion for gardening and sewing, she always ensured her family had a healthy lifestyle and made sure her children were well dressed. Ria loved music and dancing and had a great sense of style and beauty both personally and in her home. She developed a love and passion for antiques and antique auctions. Ria loved her family and was the driving force.  "Mom, you will always be with us and you will live on through us with the strengths you have given us."
Special thank you to Taber Palliative Care: Dr. Robert Wedel, Diane Nummi and Anne Veenstra.
Besides her loving husband Jerry, Ria is survived by her mother Geertje Kooistra of The Netherlands; her children Gea Zeinstra (Russ), Lydia Zeinstra (Corwin) and Kirsten (Marko) Maksymytz all of Calgary and Renko Zeinstra of Taber; brothers Wiebe Kooistra and Pieter Jan (Willy) Kooistra and sister Akke (Joop) Rombout all of The Netherlands; her father-in-law Sebastianus Zeinstra; brothers and sisters-in-law Truus (Jack) Peters, Dini (Reimer) Rauwerda, Betty Zeinstra and Annie Zeinstra all of The Netherlands and John (Celeste) Zeinstra and Morris (Jackie) Zeinstra of Picture Butte and numerous nieces and nephews.
