ESTELLE NELSON

1929 - 1998

Estelle Nelson, beloved wife of Paul Nelson of Bow Island, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 1998 at the age of 68 years.
Estelle was born at Bromhead, Saskatchewan on April 22, 1929 and was the daughter of William and Evelyn Marchand. She received her schooling in Saskatchewan and later worked with Sasktel. On June 1, 1957 she married Paul Nelson and moved to Bow Island where she and Paul resided on the farm. Estelle was an active member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church where she was a member of the CWL and enjoyed singing in the choir. She was also active with the Royal Canadian Legion Auxiliary Branch No. 197.
Besides her husband Paul, Estelle is survived by her daughter Evelyn Nelson of Calgary; two sons, Harvey (Kelly) Nelson of Calgary and their children Matthew, Sean, Erik and Kevin; Howard Nelson and his children Bradley and Paula also of Calgary. She is also survived by two sisters, Beulah (John) Bakken of Balgonie, Saskatchewan and Phylis (Jack) Ashworth of Oungre, Saskatchewan; her step father Joe Heleniak of Regina, Saskatchewan; an uncle Willard (Rae) Jewett of Mississauga, Ontario; an aunt Alice Dwight of Surrey, British Columbia as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends were invited for Prayers at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Bow Island on Friday, January 9, 1998 at 7:00 P.M.
The Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Bow Island on Saturday, January 10, 1998 at 11:00 A.M.
with Reverend Dominic Nguyen Celebrant.
