RON CHRISTENSEN

1933 - 1998

Ronald Earl Christensen of Taber, passed away in Lethbridge on Tuesday, April 14, 1998 at the age of 64 years following a long struggle with the complications of diabetes.
He was born on August 28, 1933 at Wrentham, the twelfth child of Alfred & Inzie Christensen. Ron lived in Wrentham on the farm with his family all of his life until he and his parents moved to Taber in September of 1973 where he has resided ever since. He became a resident of the Taber Extended Care in August of 1995. He had a great love for animals but his favorite was his dog, Butch. He loved wood-working, refinishing antiques and rock collecting. Ron enjoyed family gatherings and playing with his nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his brothers Rex (Ann) Christensen and Marvin (Louise) Christensen of Taber; his sisters Norma Selk of Milk River, Barbara Adams of Cranbrook and Sylvia (Sheldon) Rogers of Barnwell as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Ron was predeceased by his parents; his twin brother Donald at birth; brothers George, Leo, Bill, Lloyd and Ernest as well as his sisters, Verna and Zada Still.
Friends met the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, April 16, 1998 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and also in the Relief Society Room of the church prior to the funeral service on Friday, April 17, 1998 from 1:00 P.M. to 1:45 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taber Stake Centre, 4709 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Friday, April 17, 1998 at 2:00 P.M. with Bishop Jerry Haslam conducting. Interment followed at the Stirling Cemetery.
