DOROTHY GROSS

1932 - 1999

Dorothy Gross, beloved wife of Philip Gross of Grassy Lake, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 8, 1999 at the age of 66 years.
Dorothy was born in Grassy Lake on December 2, 1932 the daughter of Anton and Rose Biegler. She married Philip in September of 1949 and has resided in Grassy Lake all of her life.
Besides her husband Philip, Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory her four children Don (Rita) Gross of Lethbridge, Mona (Jim) Ottenbreit of Calgary, Darla (Brent) Felske of Lethbridge and Darren Gross of Calgary; six granddaughters and one great-granddaughter; four sisters Rose (Levi) Brooks of Red Deer, Kay (Ralph) Koch of Edmonton, Violet (Albert) Thacker of Taber and Gladys (Rod) Macdonald of Stony Plain; one brother Scotty (Amy) of Faulkland, British Columbia.
Dorothy was predeceased by her parents; one sister Martha; three brothers, Frank, Bill and Tony Biegler; a brother-in-law Henry Emard (Martha) and a sister-in-law Paranzem (Bill).
Dorothy was a very caring and generous lady, hard working and loved to cook and bake. She was always willing and the first to offer her talents in the kitchen at social functions. She was very active in her community and helpful to her neighbors and friends, as well as being a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Relatives and friends were invited for Prayers at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Monday, January 11, 1999 at 7:00 P.M.
The Funeral Mass was celebrated at the Our Lady Of Assumption Catholic Church, Grassy Lake on Tuesday, January 12, 1999 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Dominic Nguyen Celebrant. Interment followed at the Our Lady Of Assumption Catholic Cemetery, Grassy Lake.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Dorothy’s name may be made directly to the Palliative Care Unit in care of the Taber Hospital Foundation, 4326 - 50 Avenue, Taber, Alberta T1G 1N9. The family wishes to thank everyone for their kindness and generosity expressed to them during Dorothy’s illness.
