KAY PRICE

1932 - 2000

Kay Haynes Price of Taber, beloved wife of Bernard Price, left this life on Sunday, January 9, 2000 after a valiant battle with cancer.
Kay was born in Taber on March 31, 1932 the daughter of Dolly (Ellen Selina) Whitelock and Warren Haynes. She was raised and educated in Taber, and lived all but five years of her life there.
The twin pillars of her life were her family and her faith in the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. All her life, she was actively involved in the activities of her church. She was a teacher and a leader at different times in the Primary, the Young Women’s and Relief Society. Kay did temple work and also worked in the Family History Library.
Years ago, Kay responded to the question, “What would you do, if you had only one day to live?” with the statement that she would spend the time with her family. She lived her life that way. She and Bernard were rarely apart, enjoying each other’s company. When the children were grown, they travelled all over to visit them and their grandchildren. She was delighted when the family came home to see her and Bernard. Her last Christmas was made joyous by the presence of all her children and grandchildren, and visits from her brother, nieces, nephews and other family members.
Kay is survived by her beloved husband Bernard E. Price, her children Marilyn (Dean) Price-Larson of Salt Lake City, Utah; Wendy (Jerry) Haslam of Taber; Robert (Loni) Price of Calgary; Shelley (Andrew) Price Draper of Kelowna; Gerald (Heather) Price of Taber; seventeen grandchildren; her brother George Haynes and his children.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, January 11, 2000 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and at the church prior to the funeral service on Wednesday, January 12, 2000 from 11:30 A.M. to 12:45 P.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taber Stake Centre, 4709 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, January 12, 2000 at 1:00 P.M. with Bishop Richard Sugden conducting. Interment followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Kay’s name may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, 317 - 10 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta T1J 2M7.
