FRED JENSEN

1922 - 1996

Frederick Nephi Jensen, beloved husband of Virginia Jensen, passed away peacefully in his sleep after a lengthy illness at the age of 74 years.
Born on February 26, 1922 to Nephi and Ivy Jensen at Fincastle where he grew up.
Fred married Virginia Duncombe on September 19, 1947 and was blessed with five children. Fred and Virginia farmed in the Fincastle area until his passing on May 21, 1996.
Fred is survived by his dearly loving wife Virginia and their five children and nine grandchildren, Cheryl Anderson of Taber and her daughters Patricia (Wes) Anderson and Brenda Anderson; Larry (Brenda) Jensen of Taber and daughters Andrea (Troy) Jensen, Jennifer (Dale) Sebok and Kasondra; Derek (Brenda) Jensen of Lethbridge and daughter Andrea (Dean) Herrington; Karen (Dave) Derksen of Taber and children Jaysen Keslick, Kara Keslick and Kayla Derksen; Kendal Jensen of Taber and three great grandchildren Chad, McKinley and Josh. “Grampa” Fred will be deeply missed by his loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. Fred is also survived by four brothers and two sisters, Marion of Taber, Roy (Ellen) of Taber, Walter (Connie) of Barnwell, Ross (Marion) of Lundbreck, Shirley (Bill) Stoltz of Calgary, Darlene (Dick) Layton of Taber and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Nephi and Ivy Jensen, one sister Thelma, sister-in-law Betty and daughter-in-law Patricia.
Friends may meet with the family on Thursday, May 23, 1996 at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M. and on Friday, May 24, 1996 in the Multipurpose Room at the church between 10:00 A.M. and 10:45 A.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taber Stake Centre, 4709 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Friday, May 24, 1996 at 11:00 A.M. with Bishop Thom Evanson officiating. Interment to follow at the Taber Memorial Garden.
