She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.

She was predeceased by her father Verdun LeGrow (2004), her mother Lillian Lovestead (2013) and by her brother Gordon LeGrow (2014).

Susan was born in Toronto, Ontario on January 17, 1947. She was the older sister to six younger brothers who she loved dearly. Susan attended New Tribes Bible Institute in Wisconsin where she met and married Michael Hurst and they moved to northern Saskatchewan to work as missionaries. Their children Robert and Rebecca were born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and the family relocated to Calgary in 1978. Susan and Michael were divorced in 1989. She remained in Calgary and later met and married Victor Patton and they were together until 2013. She worked in Occupational Health and Safety at the Foothills and Peter Lougheed Hospitals for many years.

Susan had strong faith in God. Her church and church family were an integral part of her life. While she attended Grace Baptist Church she was involved in Pioneer Girls, ladies Bible studies and choir. At Centre Street Church, she participated in seniors programs and actively served with TOPS and other ministries.

Susan treasured her family. She was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She had a heart that was open and was willing to help anyone, anywhere, at any time. Susan enjoyed crafting, gardening and spending time with her dogs.

Although we’re saddened and miss her, we have peace in knowing that she now sits at the feet of Jesus, walks in His garden and sings in His choir.
