1924 - 2018
Tamotsu Kaga, beloved husband of Lily Kaga (nee Taniguchi), passed away peacefully in Taber with family by his side on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at the age of 93 years.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, April 18, 2017 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at the Buddhist Temple of Southern Alberta, 470 - 40 Street South, Lethbridge on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 11:00 A.M.
Besides Lily, his loving wife of sixty six years, Tom is survived by their daughter Vivian (Jeff) Beckingham of Spruce Grove; sons Bert Kaga (Danny Engleson) of Lethbridge and Jim (Marcy) Kaga of Taber; grandchildren Brandon (Jessica) Kaga of Wabasca, Kristy Kaga of Calgary, Matthew Kaga of Lethbridge and great grandchildren Makenzee, Chesney and Akio Kaga of Wabasca. He is also survived by his brother Toshiki "To" Kaga of Toronto, Ontario and sister-in-law Yoshiko "Flo" Sameshima of Richmond, British Columbia and by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sons Raymond and Andrew; parents Natsugoro and Sute; brothers Kishio, Masaki, Reggie, Yas (Betty) and Yagi (Sally); sister Kimmio (Mickey) Terakita; sister-in-law Lil; nephew Keith Kaga; niece Carol Kaga; in-laws Sammy Sameshima and June (Bill) Taniguchi.
Tom farmed for thirty seven years and retired in 1990. He was an active member of the former Taber Buddhist Church and loved golf and curling.
