Heather was born in Revelstoke, British Columbia on July 5, 1954 and moved to Nelson when she was three years old. She met and married Calvin McCombe in 1972 and they moved to Brooks where they raised their family. Heather was involved with numerous community activities while living in Brooks. She moved around for a few years before finally settling in Taber in 2005, where she became an active part of the community. She was employed for two years at Walmart both in Taber and as the manager of the auto department in Lethbridge. In 2007 she became employed with A-OK Used Cars in Lethbridge and within a short time became co-owner with her good friend Loren Calpas. She received a gift from the Lord in Medicine Hat fourteen years ago in the form of her grandson Logan McCombe, one of her numerous and final foster children she has guided throughout the years. Her life then became centered around Logan's Catholic upbringing, which always involved her love of horses and fast cars. She was known by family, friends and acquaintances as the "horse lady". She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed.
