A private Funeral Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 205-2 Street West, Foremost. Burial followed at the Foremost Cemetery.

Linda is survived by her three children and their families Gale (Darcy) Huisman of Foremost and their children Kyle, Eric and Jaiden; Mark Hougen of Foremost; Tracy (Greg) Seefried of Foremost and their children Adam and Jenna. She is also survived by her sister Faye (Ray) Taylor; brothers Pete (Laura) Heck and Scott (Irene) Heck; brother-in-law Darren Wilson; sister-in-law Terry (Mike) Chiarizia as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Charles Hougen; parents Frank and Vale Heck; sister Jackie Wilson and her son Doug Wilson; mother and father-in-law Trygve and Margaret “Peggy” Hougen.

Linda was born in Taber on January 20, 1949 to Frank and Vale Heck. On November 23, 1968 Linda married Charlie Hougen. They resided in Foremost where they raised their three children and where she has remained until the time of her passing.

Linda enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren more than anything else in the world. If she wasn’t teaching them about growing flowers and her yardwork, she was in the kitchen passing down her greatest recipes. Linda was well known for her ability to cook. She spent many years working for the County of Forty Mile as a cook and people today still rave about her cooking.

Linda will be sadly missed by the many people whose lives she touched with her feisty spirit and giving nature, but most of all by her five beautiful grandchildren who meant everything to her.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Linda’s name may be made directly to the Bow Island and District Health Foundation (Palliative care), Bag 3990, Bow Island, Alberta T0K 0G0.
