Elaine Meisner

1929 - 2022

 Donna Elaine Meisner (née Stevens), beloved wife of the late Clarence Meisner, passed away in Taber on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at the age of 92 years.

A private burial service was held at the Barnwell Cemetery prior to the funeral service on Monday, April 11, 2022.

The Funeral Service was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taber Stake Centre, 4709 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Monday, April 11, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. 

 Elaine is survived by her children Diane (Dennis) DeJager of Taber, Brian (Margaret) Meisner of Calgary, Yvonne Grigor (Rob McCharles) of Parksview, British Columbia, Penny Faye (Norbert) Schafer of Taber and by her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her great great grandchild. She is also survived by her brother Kent (Vicki) Stevens of Medicine Hat, sister-in-law Rae Stevens of Lethbridge and by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 

 She was predeceased by her husband Clarence Meisner; parents Lyman and Geneva (née Johnson) Stevens; brother Gordon Stevens; sister Pauline Nalder and her partner Kay Hadlington. 

 Elaine was born July 13, 1929 in Taber and was raised and attended school in Barnwell. While going to school, she participated in basketball, softball and gymnastics. 

 In 1947 Elaine started working at the Taber Times on the lino type machine. This is where she met her future husband, Clarence. 

 Elaine was a member of The Women of the Moose and later became a Lioness. She helped Clarence with the gardening and caring for the yard. She enjoyed doing handy work, embroidering, ceramics and making plastic furniture. Elaine always enjoyed gathering with her friends for a visit. She will be dearly missed.

Elaine’s family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the doctors and nurses at the Taber Hospital as well as the staff of the Clearview Lodge for the care and compassion shown to her.
