Ken Crawford

1938 - 2026

Kenneth Lyle Crawford, beloved husband of Sharon Crawford, passed away in Taber on Friday, August 21, 2026 at the age of 87 years.

Ken was a hard working and social man, proud of his Scottish heritage and his family tree, gleefully listing the names of his family members to anyone who would listen. He worked as a “damn good” drywaller for most of his life and loved seeing his friends in the coffee shops.

Ken was born in Ontario to Charles and Pearl - the oldest of ten. He married his beautiful wife Sharon (also the oldest of ten) on April 14, 1960. He moved his family all over Canada, chasing dreams and opportunities.

His son Ward (Leslie) gave him three beloved grandchildren, Joshua, Kyle and Lindsay; Lindsay gave him one great grandson Daxton. His daughter Kimberly-Ann (Dale) gave him three granddaughters, Anna, Katrina and Shara; Kat gave him four great grandchildren, Merrik, Jamison, Mazey and Ivar; Shara gave him two great granddaughters, Abigail and Nova; Anna gave him a headache because they were two stubborn peas in a pod, but they were especially close.

In his last years, even with dementia, Ken often told anyone who would listen that Sharon was the best thing that ever happened to him and that he loved her with all his heart. She was devoted to him until the end.

Ken was affectionately known as "Gumpa" to many of his grandchildren. At the end of every meal he would announce, "I'm ready for my pie and ice cream", so his family will continue that tradition in his honor.
