ARLENE ROMBOUGH

1947 - 1998

Arlene Carol Rombough (nee Campbell), most beloved wife of Ken Rombough and loving mother and grandmother of Shari (Dale) Schmidt and Brodie and Colton; Della Dee (Blake) Schramm and Robi; Tammy Rombough (Robert) Goldade and Jasmin and Mackayla; and Dustin Rombough. Arlene passed away suddenly in Edmonton on July 2, 1998 at the age of 50 years; thankfully only having to fight pulmonary fibrosis for just a short time.
Arlene was born in Barrhead on December 1, 1947. She moved to Taber where she received her schooling at Central and W.R. Meyers High School. Arlene had very fond memories of growing up with her brother William Duane “Bill” Campbell and sisters Mona May Orlando, Lois Elizabeth Phillips and her step family Melvin Nelson, Glen Nelson, Louella Powelson, Grant Nelson, Marie Hill and many, many friends. In her last year of high school, she met and fell in love with Ken Rombough. On January 29, 1966 she married her high school sweetheart and they started their family. Arlene was by far, the kindest, most generous, loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, auntie and friend, a person could ever know. It didn’t matter how tired or how busy she was, she always made herself available. She was a very hard working woman, raising children, feeding the men and harvesting right along beside them.
Somewhere there is a happier place and we should somehow be happier, knowing that our special friend has gone ahead to wait there for us.
Friends met with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Monday, July 6, 1998 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and in the Relief Society Room at the church prior to the funeral service from 12:00 P.M. to 12:45 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Third Ward, Taber on Tuesday, July 7, 1998 at 1:00 P.M. with Bishop Richard Sugden conducting.
