Barb Turin

1932 - 2018

Barbara A. Turin, beloved wife of the late Dennis Turin, passed away in Taber on Monday, January 8, 2018 at the age of 85 years.

 Relatives and friends wer invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Sunday, January 14, 2018 between 3:00 P.M. and 4:00 P.M.

 The Funeral Service was held at Knox United Church, 4929 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. Burial followed at the Taber Memorial Garden. 

 Barb is survived by her daughter Margaret (Don) Ackrill of Vauxhall; grandchildren Michelle Lawlor, Jason Turin, Greg Ackrill and Andrea (Darrell) Kast; great grandchildren Riley and Josh Lawlor, Donovan, Declan and Chryslyn Kast, Brittany Pyne, Tyler and Shaun Ackrill, Xander Myrkle, Ashton and Avery Turin. She is also survived by her sister Juanita Ell, sister-in-law Jackie Sanderson, brother-in-law Vince Leismeister and numerous nieces and nephews.

 She was predeceased by her husband Dennis Turin, son Peter Turin; parents Albert and Ester Sanderson; siblings Ramona Leismeister, Ed Sanderson and Ron Sanderson; brother-in-law Alvin Ell.

 Barb was born and raised in Taber where she resided her whole life. She worked alongside her husband in the hardware store and dress shop until Dennis passed away. Barb loved to travel, go camping and fishing. She always put her family first and just loved to spend time with her grandchildren. In recent years, she never missed coffee with the ladies at A&W, all of whom were very special to her. Staying independent in her own home made her happy and she was there to the end. Barb will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed.
