Vi Collins

1928 - 2018

Viola Collins, beloved wife of the late Clarence Collins, passed away peacefully at the Good Samaritan Linden View Care Centre in Taber on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at the age of 89 years.

  A private burial service was held at the Bow Island Cemetery. 

 Vi is survived by her three children Emery (Diana) Collins of Burdett and their children LesleyAnn Collins (Dustin), Dalton (Kristi) Collins, Andrew (Heidi) Collins and Traci (Perry) Stephenson; Cliff (Scarlett) Collins of Taber and their children Kali (Kyle) Paterson and Janae (Matt) Redgrave; Pam (Brian) Moen of Bow Island and their children Melissa (Travis) Hauer, Robyn (Cam) Feltin and Morgan (Kaylah) Moen. She is also survived by her sisters Maxine Parkyn and June Ellis; sisters-in-law Angela Morgan and Saundra Morgan; brother-in-law Dick Parkyn. Vi was a cherished wife, mother, sister and much loved Grandma Vi “GG” to her grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, caring auntie to numerous nieces and nephews and dear friend to many.

 She was predeceased by her husband Clarence; parents Bob and Anne Morgan; sister Dorothy Skelton; brothers Bob Morgan, Ronald Morgan and Floyd Morgan; sister-in-law Juanny Morgan; brothers-in-law Ray Skelton and Ted Ellis.

 Vi lived with her family in a number of communities in southern Alberta, including Burdett, where she met Clarence. They resided  on the farm southeast of Burdett. In addition to being a kindhearted mother and hard working farm wife, Vi became an accomplished hairdresser and friend to generations of families. She styled hair in Bow Island and then for many years in Vi’s Beauty Shop which was located in the original farmhouse.

 Vi will forever be remembered for her caring heart and love of family and friends. She was a talented artist whose amazing paintings adorn the walls of homes of family and friends. Vi also enjoyed fishing, camping, travelling, curling, pets and her lovely yard. She was a kind, compassionate, beautiful woman with a wonderful sense of humour. Vi will always be remembered and deeply missed.
