Montana Halvorson

1997 - 2018

Montana Lee Halvorson, beloved daughter of Tara and Trevor Halvorson, passed away unexpectedly in Taber on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at the age of 20 years.

Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel,  5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 between 5:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M.

The Funeral Service was held at the Taber Agriplex, 6602 - 53 Street, Taber on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 4:00 P.M. Immediately following the funeral service, Montana’s family encouraged everyone to remain and join them in celebrating her short but amazing life.

Montana is survived by her dad and mom Trevor and Tara Halvorson, big brother Cole (Caitlin) English and her little brother Trey Halvorson. She will be fondly remembered by her grandparents Larry and Brenda Halvorson, Gordon Chiles (Donna Hamel), Linda Wiebe and her GG Moma Marie Wright; aunts Bambie (Duke) Mehlhaff, Kari (Tim) Ellis, Billie-Jo (Brad) Ferguson and Laurie (Dion) Schlosser. She will be deeply missed by all her close cousins and will be forever missed by her special friend, Blair Schmitz. She also leaves a deep void in the hearts of her rodeo family.

She was predeceased by her GG Papa Lionel Wright, her great grandmother Lea Beth MacDonald and her great grandfather Sydney Chiles.

Montana graduated from W.R. Myers High School in 2015. She was currently a member of the Chinook Rodeo Association and competed in jackpots in Southern Alberta barrel racing. She thoroughly enjoyed putting on the Turn’N’Fire Series jackpot with her mother Tara, who was her partner and best friend. Her smile was contagious, her personality infectious and she lit up the room wherever she went.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Montana's name may be made directly to the charity of one’s personal choosing.

The Halvorson family is grateful and extremely appreciative of all the amazing support from the community.
