Pete Cseke

1949 - 2018

Peter Alexander Cseke, passed away in Taber on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at the age of 69 years.

A private burial service was held at the Taber Memorial Garden on Monday, July 30, 2018.

Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Heritage Inn, 4830 - 46 Avenue, Taber on Monday, July 30, 2018 between 2:00 P.M. and 4:00 P.M.

Pete is survived by his three siblings Linda Cseke of Lethbridge; Tom Cseke (Jan) of Coaldale and his daughter Heather (Sean) Ashlee; Rick Cseke of Lethbridge and his children Tyler (Lila), Logan (Meagan), Colby (Ellen) and Rennie (Ryan) Aryk and by numerous great nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Alex and Mary Cseke, sister-in-law Irene Cseke and his nephew Kevin Cseke.

Pete was born in Taber where he lived his entire life. He was the oldest of four children and grew up on the family farm north of Taber. He took the bus to attend Dr. Hamman and W.R Myers. Following graduation, Pete worked as the parts manager at Kirchner Machine Ltd. in Lethbridge for years, driving to work from Taber. He will be remembered for being short in stature but always had a pickup truck taller than most. Later in years he worked as a millwright at the Taber Sugar Factory and Lamb Weston. Many have shared stories of his handy work he did around their home and yard, often whistling a tune while he worked. Pete was a gifted artist and fortunate for us, many have his paintings hanging in their homes. His other passion was his love for his dogs. As his “coffee buddies” would say, he loved his “Missy” and would often be seen riding his bike with Missy at his side. He always had a smile and an infectious laugh and was generous with his hugs.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Pete’s name may be made directly to the Taber Food Bank, 5512 - 48 Avenue, Taber, Alberta T1G 1S4.
