When she returned to Alberta, Paul followed her, and they were married in St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Lethbridge on April 22, 1954. Paul began farming with Jarmila's father John, eventually starting their own farm.  Together they raised four children. Jarmila enjoyed her beautiful flowers, especially her roses, and gardening. Sewing was her winter passion, and her Czech baking and cooking was enjoyed by family and friends. But her greatest joy were her children , grandchildren and great grandchildren.
