1939 - 2022

Helena Dyck Friesen, beloved wife of the late Abe Friesen, passed away peacefully into the loving arms of her Lord and Saviour, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at the age of 82 years.

Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, April 8, 2022 between 4:00 P.M. and 5:00 P.M.

The Funeral Service was held at the Evangelical Free Church, 5431 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. Burial followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.

Helena will be lovingly remembered by her children Neil (Debbie) Friesen of Taber, Maria Friesen of Picture Butte, Abe (Jo Ann) Friesen of Cranford, Helen (Tony) Whelan of Tucson, Arizona, Tina Friesen of Taber, Peter Friesen of Taber and Henry Friesen of Medicine Hat; grandchildren Chantella Friesen (Scott Westwood), Kyle (Jayme) Friesen, Blaire (Andrea) Friesen, Amy (Aaron) Apfelbaum, Brandy Johnston, Corey Johnston, Krista Whelan, Carli Whelan, Rachel Friesen, Michael Friesen and Brendan Friesen; great grandchildren Hunter, Jonas, Sydney, Juniper, Noah and Sophie; brothers David Fehr, Abe (Kathy) Fehr and by numerous nieces and nephews who called her grandma as she welcomed them with open arms.

She was predeceased by her husband Abraham, her parents Abram and Maria Fehr and siblings Peter Fehr and Maria Banman.

Helena was born on August 5, 1939 at Cuauhtemoc, Chihuahua, Mexico. She resided there with parents and later with her husband where they had seven children. In 1974 Helena and Abe immigrated with their family to Canada and settled in Taber where she resided until her passing.

Helena enjoyed doing charity work and playing games with family especially her grandchildren.

She enjoyed going to church and praying for her family, for everyone she knew and even those she didn't, but still cared for.

Helena will be dearly missed by all.
