Alden was active in his community. He was involved with the Knox United Church, served as Reeve for the MD of Taber and on the Taber Hospital Board. His one goal was to stay on the hospital board until Taber had it’s new hospital in 1985. Alden had many hobbies including golfing, curling, fishing and playing cards with friends and family.
