1941 - 2004

Mrs. Beverley Jane Weir, beloved wife of Mr. Bill Weir of Bow Island, passed away on Friday, May 21, 2004 at the age of 62 years.  
Bev was born at Lethbridge, Alberta on October 16, 1941 to parents Leo and Helen Peterson. She received her schooling in Barnwell and Taber. On May 8, 1968 she married Bill Weir and since 1970 they have resided in Bow Island. They farmed north of Bow Island and later became partners with Gary Johnson in Johnson and Weir Welding and Machining. For the past several years they owned and operated Island Sand and Gravel. Bev enjoyed singing and helping the Pioneer Girls at the Evangelical Free Church. The special joy in her life was her children and grandchildren.  
Besides her loving husband Bill and her mother Helen Peterson, she will be sadly missed by her four children Kristene (Norris) Hirch of Bow Island, Jerry (Bonnie) Weir of Osoyoos, B.C., Tammy (Koos) Wysbeek of Burdett and Bonnie (Andrew) Payne of Carman, Manitoba; 15 grandchildren Melissa, Amanda, Matthew, Marcus, Micheal, Amber, Alicia, Cordell, Brianne, Austin, Jackie, Justin, Danielle, Tiffany and Hannah;  brothers Keith (Joyce) Peterson of Taber and Phillip (Deann) Peterson of Idaho Falls, Idaho and a sister Jodi (Doug) Schmale of Raymond.   She is also survived by Bob and Dorothy Weir and family and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.  
Bev was predeceased by her father Leo Henry Peterson and a sister Karen Ann Peterson.  
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel (5006-48 Ave.) Taber on Monday, May 24, 2004 from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. and also at the church prior to the service from 1:00 to 1:45 P.M.  
The Funeral Service will be held at the Evangelical Free Church (214-4 Ave. West) Bow Island on Tuesday, May 25 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Michael DeRidder and Pastor Roger Lobb officiating.  Interment to follow in the Bow Island Cemetery.
