ELSIE WALL

1916 - 2004

Mrs. Elsie (Friesen) Wall of Coaldale, beloved wife of Mr. Henry Wall, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2004 at the age of 87 years.  
Elsie was born at Alexandertal, Russia on October 29, 1916.  She immigrated to Canada in 1925 settling in Eyebrow, Saskatchewan and six years later in Coaldale, Alberta.  On December 29, 1937 she married Jacob Friesen and resided at Black Creek on Vancouver Island. In 1942 they, along with their two children moved to Rosemary and in 1948 moved to Vauxhall. On December 1, 1984 she married Henry Wall.  Since 1997 she resided at Sunnysouth Lodge and from 1998 to present she was a resident of Coaldale Health Care Centre, Extended Care in Coaldale. Elsie had a love of musical instruments, especially the guitar and organ.  She enjoyed cooking, and being the hospitable person she was, no one ever left her home hungry.  She had a special love in her heart reserved for all her grandchildren.  
Besides her loving husband Henry, she is survived by her four children Vern (Eleanore) Friesen of Vauxhall, John (Esther) Friesen of Beaverlodge, Ervin (Dorothy) Friesen of Dallas, Texas and Erna (Doug) Dueck of Coaldale; 17 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters Henry (Erica) Baerg, Dave (Doris) Baerg, Albert (Bev) Baerg, Erna (Jack) Spenst, George (Mary) Baerg, Willie (Hazel) Baerg and Marie (Jake) Wiebe; sisters-in-law Emily Baerg and Tina Baerg.  She is also survived by Henry's 5 children and grandchildren.  
She was predeceased by a sister Annie Weins, 4 brothers Jake, John, Peter and Neil Baerg, a son Melvin and in 1981 by her first husband Jacob Friesen.  
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel (5006-48 Ave.) Taber on Sunday, January 18, 2004 from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M.  
The Interment Service will take place at the Vauxhall Mennonite Cemetery on Monday, January 19, 2004 at 11:00 A.M.  
A celebration of Elsie's life will follow at 2:00 P.M. at the Vauxhall Mennonite Brethren Church (320-9 Street North).
