LEIGH KUSCHEL

1922 - 1998

Joseph Leigh Kuschel, beloved husband of Jessie Kuschel of Taber, passed away in Lethbridge on Thursday, April 23, 1998 at the age of 75 years.
Leigh was born on July 17, 1922 at Lethbridge to Paul & Flora Kuschel. He married Jessie Lavon Hall on September 18, 1946. Leigh lived in various locations in Alberta and the US, including Pincher Creek, Warner, Great Falls, Bozeman, Calgary, Lethbridge, Waterton and Phoenix. After he was discharged from the US Navy Air Force in 1943, he farmed at Warner for a few years. In the 1950’s he was involved in insurance, trucking and hotels in Waterton. He sold his interest in the Waterton Lakes property and moved to Phoenix by the late 1950’s. Leigh and Jessie spent their summers in Alberta and had recently moved back.
Besides his wife Jessie, Leigh is survived by his brother Paul William “Bill” Jr. (Justine) Kuschel; a nephew Richard (Christine) Kuschel and a niece Gailleigh (Phillip) Meis all of Montana.
He was predeceased by his parents and a brother Richard Allen Kuschel.
The Funeral Service was held at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Monday, April 27, 1998 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Linden Dressler officiating.
