CHUCK DAISLEY

1910 - 1999

Major the Reverend John Charles Daisley C.D., LTh., beloved husband of Zetta Daisley of Taber, was called to higher service on Sunday, January 10, 1999 at the age of 88 years.
He leaves to mourn his beloved wife of fifty six years, Zetta Daisley; daughter Janice Daisley (and life partner Ingrid Simon) of Calgary; two sons David (Arlene) Daisley of Lethbridge and Barry (Bonnie) Daisley of Taber; granddaughter Julie; grandson Robert and also by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and countless close friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, his stepmother and a brother Malcolm Daisley.
Chuck was born on April 7, 1910 at Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, the son of John and Alma Daisley. He was ordained to the Priesthood in the Church of England in 1939. He served in various parishes and for eighteen years as a Chaplain to the Armed Forces. He retired from the Armed Forces in 1964 to serve the Parish of St. Theodore’s Anglican Church in Taber for ten years until his retirement. He was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion in Taber and Birch Hills, Saskatchewan. Chuck served two terms on Taber Town Council and always remained active in various aspects of community service. His humor, wit and compassion for others will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched.
Relatives and friends were invited to Prayers at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, January 12, 1999 at 7:30 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at St. Theodore’s Anglican Church, 5120 - 44 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, January 13 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Dale Lang officiating. A private interment service followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.
