CAROL BAKER

1945 - 2002

Carol Baker, beloved wife of Wayne Baker of Taber, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2002 at the age of 57 years.
Carol was born to Kelly and Edna Wilson at Nipiwan, Saskatchewan on January 25, 1945. During her childhood they resided in several locations, finally settling in Milestone, Saskatchewan where she graduated from High School in 1965. She moved to Regina and then to Calgary where she worked for Mount Royal College. On December 11, 1971 she married Wayne Baker in Lethbridge, Alberta. They moved to Taber in 1973 where they remained until her passing. Carol served one term on Taber Town Council where she accomplished more than she ever knew. She was a long time member of the Taber Lioness Club and more recently a member of the Taber Lions Club.
Carol was a very warm and caring person, most often putting others needs and desires ahead of her own. She was “MOM” to a great many people, for she was always there. She loved doing ceramics and her latest passion was crossword puzzles. She was a devoted wife and mother and her grandchildren were the apple of her eye.
Carol will be sadly missed by her husband Wayne; daughters Jaimi (James) Rolfe and their children Curtis, Bailey and Thomas of Taber and Jaclyn Baker of Taber; parents Kelly and Edna Wilson of Milestone, Saskatchewan; twin sisters June Newman and Jean Wilson of Milestone, Saskatchewan and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins scattered far and wide, for she was one of a large family.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, November 22, 2002 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at Knox United Church, 4929 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Saturday, November 23, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Wes Midgett of the Church of Christ officiating.
If friends so desire, memorial tribute’s in Carol’s name may be made to S.T.A.R.S., P.O. Box 570, Calgary, Alberta T2E 8M7.
