NINA CORRIGAN

1907 - 1999

Nina Margaret Corrigan peacefully passed away in Picture Butte on Friday, October 8, 1999 at the age of 92 years.
Nina was born the daughter of Hubert and Belle Corrigan on May 7, 1907 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was raised in Saskatchewan residing at Swift Current and Moosimin. She attended Boarding School and when she was in her late teens she furthered her education at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. By the 1940’s, Nina was an accomplished musician who taught piano, sang and accompanied various celebrities in Hollywood. Music gave her great joy. She liked to read in her spare time and was partial to reading about political issues. She enjoyed watching many different sports but baseball was her favorite. She had a very charming personality and lived her life with the support of her friends. In her most recent years, she found comfort with her pets particularly when she was arthritic and at home. Nina returned to Canada when she was eighty four to be near her brother in Swift Current.
Nina will be remembered by her sister-in-law Hazel Corrigan; her nieces Carolanne (Ken) Dodson, Pat (Bernard) Turcotte, Shelagh Purcell, Mik (Tom) Bergersen and Kathie (John) Carlson; great-nieces and nephews David Turcotte, Kevin Turcotte, Carol Ann Turcotte, Sean Gurney, Mark Purcell, Sandra Fox, Meagan Cole, Joanne Purcell, Pat Dodson and Kristy Lee Martin; great great nieces and nephews Ryan Dodson, Tyler Dodson, Taylor Dodson, Josh Martin and Samantha Dodson.
Nina was predeceased by her parents William Hubert and Belle Corrigan, her brothers Leonard Bertram Corrigan, Charles Hubert Corrigan, an infant sister Cecelia Corrigan and a great nephew Ken Dodson.
A graveside service was held at the Mount Pleasant Burial Park, Swift Current, Saskatchewan on Friday, October 15, 1999 at 3:30 P.M. with Reverend Stephen Bill officiating.
