ESTHER LIND

1899 - 1999

Esther A. Lind passed away at the Edith Cavell Care Centre in Lethbridge on Friday, December 17, 1999 at the age of 100 years.
She was born in Sweden on October 24, 1899. She is survived by her sons Norman Johnson and John Lind (Gwen). She is survived by one brother Dore’ Malmberg (Lola), five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Emil Johnson in 1923 and her second husband John (Jack) Lind in 1956. She was grieving the recent passing of daughter-in-law Victoria Johnson and her granddaughter Karen Atkinson.
She was a true Alberta Pioneer when her family homesteaded north of Retlaw in 1909. She belonged to the Ladies’ Aid Society, the Women’s Institute and actively supported their charitable causes, but most of all she enjoyed being a member of the Evangelical Free Church. She was a founder and enthusiatic benefactor of the Southern Alberta Bible Camp.
