ANASTAZIA TAJCNAR

1909 - 2000

Anastazia Tajcnar of Taber, beloved wife of the late Gabriel Tajcnar, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2000 at the age of 90 years.
Anastazia was born in Dubova, Czechoslovakia on September 9, 1909. She was married to Gabriel Tajcnar on January 22, 1930 and immigrated to the Barnwell-Taber area on October 8, 1931. Anastazia and Gabriel farmed land in the Taber district since 1932 and retired to their Taber home in 1974.
She is survived by her five children Frank Tajcnar of Taber, Ella and Harry Poznikoff of Calgary, Rudy and Rose Tajcnar of Taber, Peter and Wilma Tajcnar of Edmonton, Bill and Shirley Tajcnar of Calgary; daughter-in-law Elizabeth Tajcnar of High Prairie; twenty six grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
Anastazia was predeceased by her husband Gabriel on June 6, 1993 and her son Gabriel Jr. on October 17, 1998.
Relatives and friends were invited for Prayers at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, January 5, 2000 at 7:00 P.M.
The Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 5009 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, January 6, 2000 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Jim de los Angeles and Reverend Dan Stevenot Con-celebrants. Interment followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.
