MARY FEKETE

1909 - 2000

Mary Fekete passed away in Taber on Monday, February 14, 2000 at the age of 90 years.
Mary was born in Kekjse, Hungary on May 12, 1909. She came to Taber in 1926 and married Leslie Fekete Sr. Mary resided on their farm located South of Taber until 1993 at which time she resided at the Homestead Manor before being hospitalized in October.
She is survived by her daughters Mary (Joe) Vik of Taber, Betty (Elmer) Kun of Red Deer and a son Leslie (Ethel) of Taber; eight grandchildren Bob (Carma) Vik of Millet, Rick (Deb) Vik of Lethbridge, Len Vik (Kathleen Benner) of Calgary, Diane (Ken) Swainson of Red Deer, David (Monika) Kun of Edmonton, Brad (Kim) Kun of Red Deer, Linda (Art) Hashizume of Lethbridge and Marty (Janet) Fekete of Lethbridge; eleven great grandchildren Candice Vik, Jennifer and Jillian Swainson, Sarah and Alyssa Kun, Lindsay Kun, Karissa, Blair and Chad Fekete and Ryan and Jennifer Hashizume.
Mary was predeceased by her husband Leslie on August 28, 1983; her mother Barbara Yusku of Taber in 1968 as well as two sisters in Hungary.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, February 18, 2000 from 7:00 P.M.to 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at Knox United Church, 4929 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Saturday, February 19, 2000 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Ken Crassweller officiating. Interment followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.
