TED TSUJI

1907 - 2000

Juichi Tsuji passed away in Taber on Wednesday, February 16, 2000 at the age of 93 years.
Ted was born in Shigaken, Japan on January 7, 1907. He came to Canada in 1917 and settled with his parents and siblings in Mission City, British Columbia. After his schooling he worked on the family farm. On January 26, 1942 he married his first wife Kiyoko Yoshida. When the Canadians of Japanese decent were moved inland, he and his wife came to Nobleford in April of 1942. He and his family moved to Taber in the spring of 1945 and farmed in the area until he retired in 1972 and moved into town. In 1979 he was predeceased by his first wife and later remarried.
He is survived by his wife Hamako, a brother Reverend Kenryu Tsuji and three sons, Wray (Gayle) of Edmonton, Tom (Sherry) of Taber and Albert (Sheila) of Calgary. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Besides his first wife Kiyoko, Juichi was also predeceased by his brothers Nobuichi and Tsuneichi; a sister Teru Inouye and a grandson Kiyoshi.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Monday, February 21, 2000 at 8:15 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at the Taber Buddhist Church, Taber on Tuesday, February 22, 2000 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Michael Hayashi officiating. Interment followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.
