ANGELO SKARIOT

1931 - 2000

Angelo Skariot, beloved husband of Vlasta Skariot of Taber, passed away in Calgary on Thursday, February 17, 2000 at the age of 68 years.
Angelo was born in Yugoslavia on November 10, 1931 the son of Valatin and Katarina Skariot. He served in the Yugoslavian Army from 1952 to 1953. In 1960 he married Vlasta Zeman and they came to Canada with their daughter in 1961. Angelo worked for the Taber Irrigation District for sixteen years. He enjoyed working in the garden and having a green thumb his grapes and apple trees flourished under his care. He was a nature enthusiast and liked to be outdoors where he could enjoy the wildlife of all sorts. In his spare time he enjoyed working with wood and doing odd jobs around the house and Yard. The special times he spent with his family and grandchildren were very precious to him.
Angelo leaves to cherish his memory his wife Vlasta of Taber; daughters Danica Duval of Lethbridge and her sons Kevin and Kenneth and Kathy (Darrell) Uttley of Whitecourt and son Bryce; sisters Lucia (Ernest) Pecker and Ana (John) Cartic of Germany and also by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents and brothers Tony and Carlo.
Relatives and friends were invited to Prayers at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Monday, February 21, 2000 at 7:00 P.M.
The Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 5009 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, February 22, 2000 at 10:30 A.M. with Reverend Jim de los Angeles Celebrant. Interment followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.
