PHILLIP FEIST

1916 - 2000

Phillip Feist of Taber, beloved husband of Irene Feist, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2000 at the age of 83 years.
Phillip was born at Leader, Saskatchewan on December 31, 1916 the son of Valentine and Catherine Feist and twin brother of Sam Feist. He married Irene Ryan on October 4, 1943. They farmed and he worked at a garage in Zealandia, Saskatchewan before moving to Hays in 1954. They farmed in Hays until 1993 when they retired to Taber. Phillip coached and umpired baseball for many years and was an active member of the Lions Club. He enjoyed the time he spent on camping trips with his family and treasured the time spent with his grandchildren.
His family was very important to him and he will be forever remembered by his loving wife Irene; children Ken (Lorna) Feist of Weyburn, Saskatchewan, Lorraine (Leroy) Church of Taber, Wayne (Pearl) Feist of Brooks, Dorothy (George) Palmer of Vauxhall, Bob (Barb) Feist of Nobleford, Donna (Ron) Hanke of Rolling Hills, David (Teresa) Feist of Picture Butte and Ida (Mark) Jensen of Calgary; twenty eight grandchildren; thirty three great grandchildren; one great great grandson; twin brother Sam Feist of Taber; sisters Regina, Barbara, Lydia, Margaret and also by numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.
He was predeceased by two grandsons Mark Feist and Fred Palmer; two sisters Rose and Dora and two brothers Adam and Joe.
Relatives and friends were invited to Prayers at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, March 16, 2000 at 7:00 P.M.
The Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 5009 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, March 17, 2000 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Jim de los Angeles Celebrant. Interment followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.
