LILLY WRIGHT

1911 - 2001

Lilly Grace Wright, beloved wife of Bert Wright of Vauxhall, Alberta passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2001 at the age of 90 years.
Lilly was born in Taber on May 18, 1911 and was the daughter of Ernest and Caroline Allcock. Bert and Lilly were married in Brooks on June 29, 1932 and in 1937 they moved to their present farm, where they have continued to reside. In her own words “she came full circle” when she turned ninety this May in the Taber Hospital. She passed away after a stay of three and a half months in the Hospital, the last ten days in the Continuing Care. Lilly will be remembered as a wonderful, kind and gentle woman.
Besides her loving and devoted husband of sixty nine years, she is survived by three children Muriel (Morgan) Sparks of Lethbridge, Tom (Sharon) Wright of Medicine Hat and Carol Skretting of Vauxhall; nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren Rae Ann (Dennis) O’Neil (Maryel & Liam), Kenneth (Carol) Sparks (Caitlyn), Brian (Diane) Sparks (Nickole, Jason & Ashley), Darrel (Renee) Sparks, Bonnie (Gil) Munroe (Jordan, Davey & Michael), Murray (Susan) Wright (Kristen & Michael), Shelley (Curt) Graham (Brendan & expected twins), Janet (Ron) Baker (Delon, Tanya & Deena) and Marvin Skretting; three sisters Mabel Peterson of Medicine Hat, Kay Barrett of Calgary and Irene Schutz of Calgary; a sister-in-law Agnes Alcock of Medicine Hat; special niece Anne Craik of Lethbridge and also by numerous other nieces and nephews.
Lilly was predeceased by her parents Ernest and Caroline Allcock; sisters Elizabeth Felger, Edith Strader and Hilda Perry; brothers Martin Alcock, Sam Alcock and Albert Alcock; five brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law.
The Funeral Service was held at the Vauxhall Mennonite Brethren Church, 320 - 9 Street North, Vauxhall on Wednesday, July 18, 2001 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Dale Lang officiating. Interment followed in the Vauxhall Cemetery.
