JOHAN WALL

1907 - 2001

In the comfort of being surrounded by his wife Tina and family members, Johan (John A.) Wall was called unto the presence of the Lord as he passed away peacefully following a courageous battle with cancer, in Taber on Saturday, July 28, 2001 at the age of 94 years.
John was born the son of Abram and Agatha Wall at Edenburg, Saskatchewan on July 13, 1907. In his earlier years he had farmed and later took on various employment opportunities. John was a family man and liked to gather his family around the organ and sing his favorite songs. Although John was a very hard worker to support his family, he also found time for himself to enjoy sports. His competitive nature ensured that he tried all kinds of sporting activities including, baseball, hockey, pool, golf, horse-shoes and lawn darts. John amazed family and friends as he stood on the shoreline, looked out at the whitecaps on the water and decided that he had to attempt water skiing before he got to old. He said that at the age of seventy one and despite the rough waters, John did get up on the ski’s and water-skied. His zest for life and high spirits will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Besides his wife Tina, John’s memory will linger in the hearts of his children Marie (Henry) Giesbrecht of Taber, Isaac (Louise) Wall of Mill Bay, British Columbia, Betty (Dave) Derksen of Taber, Agatha “Aggie” Mykytiw of Taber, Henry (Donna) Doell of Calgary, Abe (Dianne) Wall of Taber, Helen Wall of Coaldale, Mary (Jerry) Howes of Coos Bay, Oregon, Martha Wall of Rimbey, Jake (Bonnie) Wall of Taber and Margaret (Clarence) Hood of St. Brieux, Saskatchewan; thirty five grandchildren and fifty one great-grandchildren; two sisters, Susanna Loeppky and Agatha Enns.
