WAYNE SMITH

1954 - 2001

Wayne Barry Smith passed away in Calgary on Tuesday, August 14, 2001 at the age of 47 years.
The Funeral Service was held at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Monday, August 20, 2001 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Jim Lochhead of the United Church Of Canada officiating. Burial followed in the Vauxhall Cemetery.
Wayne was born in Brooks, March 21, 1954 and was the youngest son of Jim and Marjorie Smith. He was raised in the Vauxhall area and later moved to Calgary where he apprenticed as a Partsman with Waterous Power Products. In 1980 Wayne moved to Medicine Hat to help open a new shop for Waterous. In 1994, Wayne returned to Calgary to live and at the time of his passing was employed with Sundog Printing. Wayne enjoyed hunting, curling and playing baseball.
Wayne is survived by two daughters; Deena Smith (Dennis Magtoto) of Coquitlam, B.C, and Jennifer Smith (Jamie Bleau) of Medicine Hat; their mother Janice Maddaford of Medicine Hat; his mother Marjorie Smith of Taber, a brother Robert of Calgary; a sister Darlene (Bruce) Koch of Lomond; a brother-in-law William Darago of Brooks and numerous nieces and nephews.
Wayne was predeceased by his father Jim and a sister Eleanor Darago.
