LOUISE CHRISTENSEN

1937 - 2001

Louise Amolie Christensen, beloved wife of Marvin Christensen of Taber, passed away in Lethbridge on Wednesday, October 3, 2001 at the age of 63 years.
Louise was born the youngest daughter of John and Frida Bachman on December 8, 1937 in Lethbridge. Being raised in Warner, she received her schooling there and later met and then married Marvin Christensen on April 3, 1954. They resided in Wrentham until 1965 when they decided to move to Taber. They made their home in Taber where Louise worked along with her family in the family business, Triwell Oilfield Construction. Although she was very active in the business, Louise made time to enjoy coaching and playing baseball and was a member of the Taber Oil Wives. She had a special love for animals of all kinds. She was very involved in the horse racing industry as an owner and volunteer. Louise could always be heard cheering her horses on to the finish line. She enjoyed the company of many friends and colleagues and was a special “Nanny” to many children. With all of the special attention she gave to the many people involved in her life, Louise was most attentive and dedicated to her family. She will be fondly remembered and cherished in the hearts of her family and all who knew her.
Besides her husband, Marvin, Louise will be sadly missed by her children, Darrell (Jo-Ann) and his children, Corey (Chad) Hoskins, Tricia and Marissa Christensen; Marilyn (Collin) Leismeister and their children Ryan (Laura) and Carrie (Tim) Lyczewski; Connie (Dan) Oberholtzer and their children Aryn and Chase; Glenda (Kevin) Oberholtzer and their children C.J. and Paige; five great grandchildren Kasidee, Gavin and Kaelei Hoskins and Clay and Makenna Leismeister; her sisters Alice (Bruce) Colwill of Ottawa, Trudy Newinger of Lethbridge, Rose (Lloyd) Munro Graham of Vulcan, Cecilia Minion of Warner and Shirley Tudor of Taber.
Louise was predeceased by her parents John and Frida Bachman.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Monday, October 8, 2001 from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. and also prior to the funeral service in the Relief Society Room of the church on Tuesday, October 9, 2001 from 12:30 to 1:40 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taber Stake Centre, 4709 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, October 9, 2001 at 2:00 P.M. with Bishop Larry Taylor officiating. Burial followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.
