MARY KOLIBAR

1909 - 2000

Mary Kolibar of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Martin Kolibar, (predeceased by her first husband Julius Martin Sr. in 1947) passed away at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital on Sunday, May 7, 2000 at the age of 91 years.
Mary was born on March 25, 1909 at Megye, Hungary. She came to Canada in 1928 arriving at Stavely by train. She became reaquainted with Julius Martin Sr. from Hungary and shortly thereafter were married. A few years later they moved to Lethbridge and worked together during the hard times. Mary enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking always feeding her family and loved her flowers. Her husband Julius passed away in 1947 and was left to raise her three children and always worked. In 1958 she married Martin Kolibar at Taber.
She is survived by two sons, Julius (Maye) Martin of Lethbridge; Andy (Goldi) Martin of Lethbridge and a daughter, Marge Brandics of Lethbridge; her grandchildren, Jay (Bonnie) Martin of Medicine Hat and their children Justin and Adam; Bill Brandics of Lethbridge; Greg (Darlene) Martin of Medicine Hat; Barb (Kirk) Hofman of Nobleford and their children David and Mandy; Ginny (Ray) Hoffarth and their children Kyle and Devin; Brad (Lisa) Martin of Lethbridge and their children Ayla and Tamara; Lori Martin of Lethbridge and her son Cory; and Delayna Martin of Calgary. Mary will always be remembered as Kicsi Granny and Gala.
She was predeceased by an infant daughter Annie; her first husband Julius Martin; a grandson Perry Brandics; her husband Martin Kolibar; son-in-law Bill Brandics Sr; her parents John and Mary Barany; three brothers John, Joe and Michael and a sister Annie all of Hungary.
Relatives and friends were invited for Prayers at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, May 10, 2000 at 7:00 P.M.
The Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 5009 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, May 11, 2000 at 10:30 A.M. with Reverend Father Jim de los Angeles celebrant.
Burial followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.
