REGINA MIKALSON

1924 - 2000

Mary Regina Mikalson, beloved wife of Birger Mikalson of Taber, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2000 at the age of 75 years.
Regina was born in Vulcan, Alberta on August 7, 1924, the second oldest child of Conrad and Sara Bendicsen. She married Birger Mikalson of Enchant on April 5, 1942. They resided on the family farm at Enchant and moved to Taber in October 1990.
Regina will be greatly missed by her husband Birger; daughter-in-law Agnes Mikalson of Bassano; four sons Ivan (Chris) of Taber, Clarence (Judy) of Wetaskiwin, Gary (Kim) of Medicine Hat, Bill (Karen) of Coaldale and a daughter Brenda (Terry) Rombough of Taber. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; two brothers Dan (Lou) Bendicsen of Fernie, British Columbia and Charles (Marg) Bendicsen of Westbank, British Columbia; three sisters Connie Ottewell of Invermere, Dolly (Angelo) Picco of Fernie and Mabel (Ed) Anselmo of Fernie and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, two brothers, two sisters and her eldest son Wayne.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Sunday, June 18, 2000 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at the Peace Lutheran Church, 4619 - 56 Avenue, Taber on Monday, June 19, 2000 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Carl Bogda officiating. Burial followed in the Taber Memorial Garden.
