CORA STOLK

1908 - 2000

Cora Stolk of Taber, beloved wife of the late Frank Stolk, passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2000 at the age of 92 years.
Cora was born in Maasluis, South Holland on January 6, 1908 and married Frank Stolk in 1928. They resided in Holland until coming to Canada in June of 1949, settling in Picture Butte. In 1952 they moved to the Taber area where they farmed retiring to the Town of Taber in 1975. In 1993 she was predeceased by her husband and moved to the Clearview Lodge for one and a half years. At the time of her passing she was a resident of Taber Continuing Care. Cora’s favorite pastime was knitting and listening to Hymns.
Cora will be sadly missed by her three daughters Corrie (Ron) Abell of Taber, Greta (Abe) Guenter of Claresholm, Gloria (Jim) Arnott of Victoria, British Columbia; daughter-in-law Jenny Stolk of Taber; three sons John (Argyl) of Taber, Bill (Darlien) of Taber, Jake (Laura) of Medicine Hat; nineteen grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren; brother Arie and sister Agatha both of Rotterdam, Holland. She was predeceased by her husband Frank, son Harry and two sisters Pietje and Maartje.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, June 21, 2000 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at the Taber Christian Reformed Church, 3902 Heritage Drive, Taber on Thursday, June 22, 2000 at 2:30 P.M. with Pastor Mike Vandyk officiating. Burial followed in the Taber Memorial Garden.
