ANNE WIEBE

1943 - 2000

Anne Helen Wiebe (Baher), beloved wife and soul mate of Frederick Wiebe of Hardisty, Alberta formerly of Grassy Lake, passed away suddenly on Monday, August 21, 2000 at the age of 57 years.
Anne was born the daughter of John and Josephine Baher on February 1, 1943 at Natel, B.C. She was raised in Elk Valley and moved to Fernie in the 1950’s following her fathers death. She returned to Elk Valley when her mother re-married and completed her schooling. She worked as a telephone operator for a British Columbia Telephone company. Anne met and later married Fred Wiebe on May 11, 1961. She was very outgoing and a cheerful person capable of any type of work and not intimidated to face new challenges. She raised a family of four children and owned and operated a successful restaurant in Grassy Lake. Anne looked forward to a new challenge of a career in farming and moved with Fred to Hardisty where she tended her cattle and the homestead. Anne will be remembered for her helping hand to anyone in need and her perfectionism in making crafts which she did with pride. Most of all, Anne was proud of her family and doted over her grandchildren and will be deeply missed by them.
Besides her loving husband Fred, she will be forever remembered by her children, Holly (Andy) Masnyk of Hardisty and their children Nicole and Spencer; Gordon (Shelly) Wiebe of Grassy Lake and their children Megan, Clayton and Chandra; Wendy (Fred) Brugger of Taber and their children Christopher and Stefanie; and Kelly (Kathy) Wiebe and “Buster” of Hardisty, Alberta. Anne is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Josie, Shirley, Francis, Johnny, Stephen and Donna as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Anne was predeceased by her parents John and Josephine Baher.
The Funeral Service was held at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, August 25, 2000 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Jeff Crittenden officiating.
