BIRGER MIKALSON

1913 - 2000

Birger Mikalson of Taber, beloved husband of the late Regina Mikalson, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2000 at the age of 86 years.
Birger was born on October 26, 1913 on the homestead north of Enchant to Ingbert and Olivia Mikalson. He married Regina Bendicsen on April 5, 1942. They resided on the family farm at Enchant and moved to Taber in October 1990.
Birger will be forever missed by his daughter-in-law Agnes Mikalson of Bassano; four sons Ivan (Chris) of Taber, Clarence (Judy) of Wetaskiwin, Gary (Kim) of Medicine Hat, Bill (Karen) of Coaldale and a daughter Brenda (Terry) Rombough of Taber; 18 grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; three sisters Myrtle Mackenzie of Camrose, Ivy Springhetti of Calgary and Margit (Jack) Burns of Lethbridge and also by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Regina, son Wayne and five brothers.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Sunday, September 10 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at the Peace Lutheran Church, 4619 - 56 Avenue, Taber on Monday, September 11, 2000 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Carl Bogda officiating. Burial followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.
