DONNA CARLSEN

1928 - 2000

Donna Mae Carlsen of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Carl Carlsen, passed away on Monday, December 18, 2000 at the age of 72 years.
Donna was born on November 6, 1928 to Lester Shipley Day and Sara Evans Van Dam in Taber. She grew up in the Wadena area and when her father passed away in the fall of 1936 the family moved to Taber. Donna married Carl Harry Carlsen on June 17, 1950. They farmed in the Purple Springs area from 1955 until 1975 when they moved to Lethbridge. Donna enjoyed bingo and the love of her family. For the past two years she has been a resident at the Extendicare in Lethbridge.
She will be forever remembered by her three children Frank (Phyllis) Carlsen of Taber and sons Trevor and Bryce; Celia (Lloyde) Palmer of Lethbridge and step-children Yvonne (Keith) Wilson, Lynnette (Mike) Fortin and David Palmer; Chris Carlsen (Marcie Astalos) and his children Blaine (Dawnelda), Aaron, Dana and Amanda; brothers and sisters Verna Brown of Taber, Floy Hyde of Lethbridge, Lenor Edwards of Cranbrook, Ivan (Freida) Day of Edmonton and Norine (Tory) Carlson of Medicine Hat; sister-in-law Kay Day; step great granddaughter Elicia Fortin; step great grandson Beau Fortin.
She was predeceased by a sister Phyllis and brothers Albert and James.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, December 20, 2000 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and in the Relief Society Room of the Church from 12:00 P.M. to 12:45 P.M. prior to the service.
The Funeral Service was held at The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints, Taber Stake Centre, 4709 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, December 21, 2000 at 1:00 P.M. with Bishop Kendon Bennett conducting. Burial followed in the Taber Memorial Garden.
