Shawn Patrick Anderson, beloved husband of Paula Anderson of Taber, passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at the age of 36 Years.
A perfect dad, husband, son, brother, friend and coach - Shawn left us unexpectedly on Thursday morning.
Shawn leaves to mourn his wife Paula and their two children, 8 year old Brett and 4 year old Mackenzie; his parents Nancy & Harvey Anderson of Taber; sister Michelle (Derek) Anderson of Brisbane, Australia; brother Chris (Christie) Anderson of Strathmore and their children Wyatt & Bo; brother Dallas (Jennifer) Anderson of Strathmore and their children Jack & Joe.
He is also survived by his father-in-law Harold (Darlene) Winter of Burstall, Saskatchewan; sister-in-law Penny (Patrick) Buye of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and their children Mercedes & Mitchell; brother-in-law Todd (Deana) Winter of Medicine Hat and their children Brody, Brooklyn & Blake as well as by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Jack & Mayme Anderson and Lowell & Emma Arntsen, cousin Dean Anderson, nephew Luke Anderson and by his mother-in-law, Judy Winter.
Shawn was an avid sportsman playing hockey, curling and golf. He was a great listener and he taught the whole family to hug and love. Everyone loved Shawn and he loved his work and his work “family”. He was a champion at Sing Star and Karaoke and he was dedicated to coaching hockey, ball and soccer. Shawn always had a smile on his face for everyone and never judged anyone. All who knew Shawn loved and respected him and he will be sorely missed by thousands of family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited for Prayers at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Monday, May 4, 2009 at 7:00 P.M.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 5009 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Mariusz Sztuk SDS Celebrant. Cremation to follow. A portion of Shawn’s cremated remains will be interred in both Taber as well as in Marengo. A private burial service will be held at the Taber Memorial Garden. A Burial Service will also be held at the Marengo Cemetery in Marengo, Saskatchewan on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at 3:00 P.M.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Shawn’s name may be made directly to a trust fund which has been set up for his children, in care of Scotiabank, 4824 - 53 Street, Taber, Alberta T1G 1W4.
