GRACE ADACHI

1921 - 2015

Sumiko Adachi, beloved wife of the late Kenji “Ken” Adachi, passed away in Lethbridge on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at the age of 93 years.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
A private service was held at Knox United Church on Thursday, April 2, 2015. Burial followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.
Grace is survived by her sons Ken Adachi of Taber and Rod (Maureen) Adachi of Edmonton; grandchildren Kea and Kendra, brother Koji (Misao) Kadonaga of Villeneuve, sister Kiyo Koyanagi of Lethbridge as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Kenji Adachi and brother-in-law Walter Koyanagi.
Grace was born in Eburne, British Columbia on August 4, 1921 to Tetsu and Setsu Kadonaga. In 1940 she married Kenji Adachi in Vancouver. In 1942, Grace and Kenji moved with their families to the Taber area, where she has resided until the time of her passing. In her early years of employment she worked as a dress maker. She was employed for many years as a book keeper and sales lady at Taber Furniture, retiring in 1989. Grace was a long time member and supporter of Knox United Church. She will be fondly remembered by her family and friends.
